Formatting is a solved problem. Just use it.

Prettier ends formatting debates permanently. Configure it once, run it on save, never discuss tabs versus spaces again. The opinionated defaults are good enough — the value isn't in the specific formatting choices but in the consistency.

Every project should have Prettier configured from day one with a pre-commit hook. The cognitive overhead of manual formatting is wasted energy that compounds across a team.
