How Avant Media uses AI in client work
The short version
Avant Media uses Claude (Anthropic) as its primary AI tool, configured so that client work is never used to train models. Where the job can be done with fully self-hosted, local AI — keeping data inside our own infrastructure — that is our preference. We will tell you clearly if we ever use anything else.
Our primary tool: Claude
Day to day, Avant Media uses Claude — and Claude Code, the developer-facing surface — from Anthropic. It supports code, copy drafts, research, and analysis across the studio’s engagements.
The studio runs Claude on a paid subscription with model-improvement settings off. Client conversations and code are not shared back to Anthropic via the /feedback command, and the studio is not enrolled in any partner programme that returns prompts to Anthropic for training.
Other tools, and local AI
Claude is primary. If a piece of work calls for something else, we will say so before we start it — no quiet additions to the stack.
Where a task can be handled by AI we run ourselves — fully self-hosted, with data that never leaves our own infrastructure — that is what we use. Public frontier models are reserved for the work that genuinely needs them, not the default.
What this means for your work
- Not used for training. Your code and your prompts are not used to train AI models.
- Short-term retention. Anthropic retains data sent to Claude for approximately 30 days for safety and abuse review — separate from training. ZDR is available where engagements need it (see below).
- Zero Data Retention available. For sensitive engagements, ZDR can be requested so that no data is persisted on Anthropic’s side beyond the request itself.
- Sub-processor disclosure. Anthropic operates on third-party cloud infrastructure (AWS and GCP). No additional AI sub-processor handles client work unless we tell you.
What we don’t put in
Some categories never reach an AI tool, regardless of how much it would help:
- Live credentials and secrets — API keys, tokens, passwords, private keys, production database URIs.
- Third-party NDA’d material — documents, code, or data covered by a third party’s NDA, without that party’s consent.
The human stays accountable
Avant Media reviews and verifies every deliverable. AI is a tool — judgement, taste, and responsibility stay with the studio.
AI does not run autonomous communications with clients on the studio’s behalf, and it does not push code to production without a human in the loop.
