I'm a software engineer. I've spent the last twenty years shipping production systems — investment banking, commodities trading, places where a bad deploy is an incident, not an inconvenience.
A few years ago I bought a property and started letting it short-term. Hungary's regulatory regime around that — NTAK reporting, municipal registration, taxes that vary by guest and by night — is fiddly enough that I needed proper software to manage it. The software didn't exist, so I built it. That's MushRoom.
I was both the property manager who needed the tool and the engineer who built it. Building MushRoom kept the craft current — modern full-stack TypeScript, AI integrated into production systems, software that ships under real constraints. Those capabilities are now available through Avant Media.
