Biome

Biome combines linting and formatting in a single Rust-based tool. The performance is good and the unified configuration is appealing. The problem is that it does both jobs adequately rather than either job excellently.

Oxlint is a faster linter. Prettier is a better formatter. The two-tool approach gives you the best of each. Biome's formatting differs from Prettier in subtle ways that cause churn when switching, and the linting rule coverage is narrower than Oxlint. A single tool sounds simpler until you need the capability the specialists provide.
