Bootstrap gave every website the same look for a decade. The grid system, the component library, and the jQuery dependency defined an era of web development. That era ended when utility-first CSS proved you could have consistency without conformity.

Tailwind CSS replaces everything Bootstrap offered — spacing, typography, responsive design, colour systems — without shipping a component library you'll spend time overriding. The result is smaller bundles, faster iteration, and designs that don't scream "Bootstrap." For React projects, Material UI covers the component gap.
