Deno
Good ideas, but Bun won the mindshare race.
Deno has good ideas: security by default, built-in TypeScript, web-standard APIs. The Node.js compatibility layer has improved dramatically. But Bun captured more mindshare for the "better Node.js" positioning and ships faster.
Deno isn't dead. The standard library is excellent, Deno Deploy is a compelling edge platform, and the runtime is stable. It just isn't where the momentum is. For teams already using Deno, it works well. For new projects, Bun is the more practical bet.
